As you look into the evening sky on a clear night, stars all a glow and bright, consider this. One of those stars is probably "Lucky, the Star." Now "Lucky" resides in a horse-shoe shaped galaxy several hundred light years away from Earth. But "Lucky" is very perceptive, and he can see a long way. Rumor has it that "Lucky" is the one responsible for the creation of the Krewe of Lucky Stars, but the Krewe is so secretive that even its own members don't know who they are! However, one story seems to stand out as the most accurate.

It seems that one night a long time ago an earthling named Yar was doing some star-gazing with a friend when he happened to discover the Horse-shoe Galaxy. when he fine-tuned his telescope, Yar was looking right into the face of "Lucky, the Star." Now "Lucky" was a very young star full of pulsating rhythms and behaviors, but he was also a very bashful star. When he noticed that he had been seen, he sent a shower of star dust in the direction of earth to try to block Yar's view. Well, as fate would have it, the star dust traveled right to earth, directly into the telescope Yar as using, and penetrated the rhythmical part of Yar's earthly brain. Yar immediately began to dance, all kinds of dances, things he had never done before. He found himself filled with rhythm and a keen sense for lead and follow. To say the least, Yar was overwhelmed with some strange urge to dance. He know he had just received a gift, and he knew he had to share it with everyone. SO he began to teach other earthlings to 2-step, rumba, waltz, and swing, Before long Yar was out of control. He had to teach everybody. He finally decided that the greatest way to celebrate this gift was to have a Mardi Gras ball where all of his students could come and pass a good time dancing. Thus Yar established a Krewe (1996) and the tradition continues.
